Exposed instruments can suffer accelerated ageing which can prove costly in terms of excess maintenance and repair and even early replacement costs. The use of GRP instrument enclosures provides exceptional ambient protection from low temperatures and a high level of mechanical protection to slow the ageing process and prolong the life of the instrument.
Available in an array of sizes and configurations, designed to accommodate single or multiple instrument arrangements, ThermotexGRP enclosures are IP66 rated, UV resistant and flame retardant. Designed as a two-part construction, split diagonally, we can offer the enclosures with options such as anti static surface treatment, insulation liners and safety windows. The modular nature of our enclosure systems ensures optimal equipment protection, allowing reliable and consistent data feedback from field instrumentation, given even the most hostile ambient conditions.
Positively tested in a wind tunnel up to 160 km/h and resistant to most corrosive industrial environments, these GRP enclosures will also resist the absorption of hydrocarbons. We provide an excellent level of mechanical and ambient protection for electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic meters, transmitters and gauges, suitable both onshore and offshore. The use of GRP enclosures allows maintenance and service costs to be minimized.
Offered alongside are a full range of accessories, including 2/3/5 way enclosure mounted manifolds, heaters, thermostats, and pipe stands, with the option for our enclosures to be supplied as fully assembled and populated with appropriate instrumentation for a complete field fit solution.
GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) enclosures have a key advantage of offering a very high level of mechanical protection for process instrumentation. In addition to their strength, GRP enclosures also offer approximately a 75% reduction in weight compared to equivalent enclosures in stainless steel.
Also, it is often the case that due to the highly specific nature of instruments, they have a relatively narrow operating temperature range. By introducing mounted self-regulating space heaters inside the enclosures, we can offer an engineered solution to allow instruments to operate in very cold climate conditions, such as winter temperatures of below -40°C in Canada and Russia, where they otherwise could not operate.
Further, our GRP enclosures are ATEX, IECEx and GOST approved, conforming to globally renowned specifications.
