Thermotex optical laser curtains, manufactured using neoprene rubber-coated, flame retardant glass cloth, shields against laser radiation by providing sufficient optical attenuation. This form of laser guarding isolates the laser hazard in addition to the associated hazards of laser processing which include: mechanical, electrical, fume and secondary radiation hazards.
In addition, our neoprene treatment holds a maximum operating temperature of 100ºc and is able to withstand maximum exposure temperatures of up to 130ºc. For ultimate specification and operation, black FR Velcro hooks and loops are to be provided between curtains and edges to combine with Velcro hooks attached to adjacent walls for efficient sealing purposes where required. Fundamentally, Thermotex laser curtains helps to encompass the embedded laser as well as the entire process zone to ensure that human access to hazardous radiation is prevented.
The layer structure of the laser protective curtain consists of high-absorbing, non-flammable fabric. Velcro allows several curtains to become connected to meet specific configurations, thus, each curtain also comes complete with assembly materials for attachment. The suitability of these laser curtains for each application is subject to individual inspection of the laser specifications.
Thermotex laser curtains are available in multiple configurations to suit a specific arrangement. Our curtains are able to automatically descend under the power of gravity upon receipt of a signal from the fire-alarm panel for optimum safety and can retract when the signal is removed. It is possible for their lower edges to incorporate steel angles which act as a weight bar to stabilize the curtains to secure protection and overall performance.
