In cold conditions, thermal insulation alone cannot fully protect pipework and vessels from freezing. Harsh weather may also cause other processes to clog and slow down. To frost protect water pipes, fuel lines, and many other low-temperature process lines from cold-temperature damage, Thermotex offers SRF self-regulating trace heating cables. SRF trace heating cables prevent plastic and metal pipes from freezing and maintain correct flow temperature across processes. SRF heat tracing cables keep total operating and total installed costs down. The energy-efficient heating cables adjust their power output in response to ambient temperatures along water pipes, fire mains, sprinkler systems and fuel oil lines. Easy to install, SRF trace heating cable can be cut to length on site and is easy to bend and form around valves, flanges and pumps.
Our SRF frost protection trace heating cables are manufactured and designed using a self-regulating conductive core protected by a moisture-resistant barrier. It uses both a standard modified polyolefin jacket and a modified polyolefin outer jacket connected by tinned-copper braiding. Intended as a single run installation, our solution withstands maximum exposure temperatures of up to 85ºc (intermittent) and minimum installation temperatures of -60ºc.
We, at Thermotex, are able to manufacture our frost protection applications in multiple configurations and provide various accessories and bespoke solutions to suit a specific arrangement. Teflon-coated chemical resistant SRF trace heating cable is available upon request. SRF is CE Marked and hazardous area classifications include ATEX (T6), IECEx and GOST / EAC TR CU approvals.
Maximum bend radius: 35mm
Maximum circuit length (as follows):
SRF10: 75m (110V) 150m (230V)
SRF16: 60m (110V) 125m (230V)
SRF24: 60m (110V) 120m (230V)
SRF30: 50m (110V) 110m (230V)
At Thermotex, we take huge pride in both the quality of the products we provide and in the quality of service we give. From handpicking the best grades of material and the most suitable components to use, to ensuring the quality of our workmanship and to taking time and care into our designs and calculations - no detail is too small and no project is too large.
We are happy to discuss your requirements with you and our expert team can support you with heat loss and heat tracing designs. Please call us about your project.
